What the 3M AP2-C401-SG cartridge does
Lincat FilterFlow boilers heat water continuously, which is exactly the condition under which calcium carbonate drops out of solution and cements itself to the element. In Oman, where feed water hardness is routinely high, an unprotected boiler element can scale up badly within months, drawing more power, tripping thermal cut-outs and eventually failing outside warranty. The 3M AP2-C401-SG carbon block cartridge combines 1 micron mechanical filtration, chlorine taste and odour reduction, and a built-in scale inhibitor that keeps hardness minerals suspended so they flush through rather than bake on.

Installing the 3M AP2-C401-SG
Fitting the 3M AP2-C401-SG takes under a minute. Isolate the feed, twist out the spent cartridge, fit the new one and flush a minimum of five litres to waste before returning the boiler to service. Write the fitting date on the cartridge body. In Muscat feed water we recommend a six-month change interval regardless of measured throughput, because scale inhibitor depletes on a time basis as well as a volume basis.
