A new lamp that does not light is the most common sign of a failed ballast. Other symptoms we see on site visits in Muscat:

Why ballasts fail in Oman

Installation and compatibility

How do I know which ballast my UV system uses?

Read the model on the ballast label or the flow rating on the steel reactor. UV-1 GPM uses the 14W ballast. UV-6 to UV-24 GPM use the 40W BA-2040W. UV-36 and above use the 40W indicator model.

Should I change the lamp when I change the ballast?

If the lamp is older than 12 months, yes. A failing ballast can also damage the lamp electrodes, so we test the lamp after fitting the new Aquapro UV ballast Oman unit.
